Amhara region is located in the north and shares a border with Sudan and internal borders with Benshangul/Gumuz, Oromia, Afar and Tigray regions. The region has experienced many different forms of violence in recent years. Since July 2021, the Tigray conflict expanded to this region, and it also experiences border-related disputes with most neighboring regions and Sudan. Moreover, in some areas of the region, ethnic minority communities have rebelled and engaged in clashes with government forces. This section includes reports on this region.
